What charities in the Baltimore area accept used (VERY used!) cars as donations? I would like to give mine directly to a charity (and choose the one) rather than giving it to some fundraising middleman agency.

Our non-profit group is having an auction and we’d like to get some airline tickets or a travel package donated. How do I solicit a donation from the online travel companies? Also, if anyone knows how to get a new car donated..that info would be helpful too.

Such as writing a letter to congress demanding support for electric cars, making a donation to hurricaine victims, or just helping an elderly neighbor carry home groceries etc,etc.

When I did my taxes (at HR block last February) they didn’t count the car I donated. It was worth $4,060 at the time of donation and in good working condition. I kept the receipt and am now wondering if they made a mistake? If not, could someone (like a CPA) explain to me why they didn’t count this large donation?
